Comment:
I drive an SW20 MR2 on (almost) original tyre sizes (Rear 225/50/15 and Front 205/50/15), so my choice is limited. For over a decade I've used the original Proxes as they were pretty good all-rounders and good value.
The new version are very good in the dry - communicative and grippy, you can feel the back end start to let go and everything is progressive and fun. However, the tread pattern gives me zero confidence in the wet as the pattern is in a v direction on one side of the car and a ^ direction on the other. Not a mistake, the "Outside" markings insist this way round. This has to have a huge impact on clearing standing water as the tread is reversed on one side of the car, so I have zero confidence in the wet as each side of the car will behave differently. Bring back the old style that were ^ all round please!
