Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

These tyres are average at best in 2021 in all aspects from wet braking and handling through dry breaking and handling and noise. The only good point is the tyre wear. The only reason why I still buy them is that BMW decided to tune their stupid xDrive system with only these tyres and putting any other brand just messes up the transfer box.

Ive driven it pretty hard at times and whatever has been thrown at these tyres, wet or dry, they have stood up to it. Not a hint of losing it. These are the B-Silent Model and they were 235/55 R19 105Y but this system will not let me specify 55 height. These tyres are absolutely brilliant! I fitted them on the rear and they stopped the road noise from the rear completely. I just wish I had not fitted something different to the front previously, as soon as the fronts wear out I will change to these. I have had no problem with grip, despite racing others around roundabouts.

I am a High mileage driver covering all roads day and night. This is a premium summer tyre made for dry grip and wet braking. Out of a budget , midrange and premium I&rsquo;ve noted , the cheapest gives me around 6000 miles. The mid ranges cover around 12000 miles and premiums last around 18000 miles. In terms of grip it always has to be premium. These are also much quieter than budget tyres. I&rsquo;ve covered 25000 miles of hard driving with these tyres and they still have around 3mm left. This is the second summer I&rsquo;ve purchased these tyres. Good on price as well as grip

These tyres replaced Continental Contact tyres that were 8 years old, still had some tread on them but the sidewalls were cracking. We wanted All-Season tyres because the roads around us are slippery with mud in the winter. Very happy so far, there is a particular stretch of road we would avoid because the Contis set up a cabin resonance at about 300Hz and with the Celsiuses the noise is much reduced. Ride comfort is a bit better, dry and wet grip seems to be slightly better and muddy road grip is definitely better. Fuel consumption on our A/B/C road journeys is about the same. Can&#39;t properly comment on snow grip as we haven&#39;t had any, but Tyretest.com insist we put in a rating! With regard to my experience of the life of Toyo tyres, I fitted a set of Toyo Proxes TR1-R to my Mazda MX-5 eight years ago and they show no sign of cracking. I would buy these again if they were available at the competitive prices I was able to obtain on mytyres.com. Delivery was fast with no ciustoms delays ....which is of course now a risk for any tyres not already in a UK warehouse than to the post-Brexit need for customs paperwork.

With 2 younger children i wanted the ability to stop and control in the wet. Very good tyre and very little wear for the usage. Will buy again next year.

Overall good tyres, sidewall is a bit too flexy and it gives very vague steering feel. The rubber is resistant to wear and can handle repeated hot laps up to 5-10 then they start to lose grip. Quite fun tyre and very safe for normal road driving.

car car The Pilot Alpin PA4 is an excellent tyre. The tyre size is 265/30 - 20 and was used on the rear axle of my Alpina B3 GT Touring. I have used this tyre on my previous car, Mercedes AMG E63s Estate. I would have preferred to have bought Pilot Alpin 5 tyres, but they are not available in this size.

These tyres perform superbly in winter conditions, and are my go-to winter tyre, reviewed on a Quattro S5, but I&#39;ve used the same tyre on a RWD C250, and they were great on both (even more essential on the RWD car in the cold, in fact). They provide top-tier grip in all cold conditions, and are only slightly noisier and slightly &#39;harsher&#39; (more bumps) than the summer tyres on the car, which is good going for a winter tyre. They are pricey, but wear well, I have used them for a full winter season, and they will do several more. Well worth the investment in my opinion.

Range does decrease a little with the Tesla which may be a combination of software range prediction and actual range reduction due to factors like rolling resistance. I changed from SuperSports to Alpine P4A&#39;s because I live in a hilly area in the country, and in the winter mornings it can get dicey going down the hill. Although I never used these in full on snow, during the winter months I never once had any scary moments like I would normally. I also noted that at motorway speeds these handled rainfall and taking standing water at speed much better, although not as good as the other car&#39;s all seasons tires since these are far wider. I would recommend them, however I would note that you do lose some steering feel at the limit of corners, and off the line traction on hotter days (7c+) was compromised compared to normal SuperSports. A worthy trade-off for the morning and storm confidence in my opinion.

I would like to say that these tyres saved our bacon this winter. We had lots of snow and ice over January and February this year and the tyres never lost an ounce of grip. Even when others were stuck and lost in snow drifts, the Scout got through. I was concerned about the wear of the tyres (bring softer than summet tyres but there was little wear showing on the Winter Tyres). Highly recommended for high speed road driving or off-road snowdrifts!

I went for the BMW approved (star marked) Blizzak and I&rsquo;m very happy with the tyres. I&rsquo;ve had Conti Winter Contact on previous cars and in regular use I would say the Blizzak is very comparable. The car retains decent steering feel and traction on wet and dry roads plus offers a far greater level of grip on snow/slush over a regular tyre. Ride comfort seems pretty much unchanged, as always with winters there is a little more noise but it&rsquo;s slight and after 5 minutes you don&rsquo;t notice! Fuel consumption does increase very slightly over the summer tyres BUT that could be down to the cold weather as much as the tyres!

I bought these so that I wouldn&#39;t have any mishaps during the winter in my beloved car. I was worried that it would be a nightmare to drive in the snow due to being rear wheel drive and its power. Superb grip in the dry and wet. Run for 33000 miles, rears are on the legal lmit, fronts would be ok for another 3-5k if it wasnt for the excess wear on the outside edge (down to my driving rather than the tyre).

We had 5 days of heavy snow and this proved that winter tyres work as I could keep going compared to other 4X4 dive on standard tyres. If you have to drive you are definitely safer

Best summer tyres I had on my bmw so far. Good grip and braking in dry and wet.

Overall, a very good RF tyre. Cabin noise has reduced significantly since changing to all 4 tyres being the same. In wet conditions, I have got as much confidence as there seems to be a little movement on the tread so makes you feel a little uneasy in bends.
