Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

Original equipment quality: optimum adjustment to the vehicle
Tyres with a special OEM marking on the sidewall, e.g. "MO" for Mercedes-Benz, were developed in cooperation with a specific car manufacturer and the tyre industry. These tyres have been homologated by the vehicle manufacturer and are a perfect match for a specific model. They have been specially designed to highlight or further improve the performance characteristics of the car in question, thus representing the culmination of a state-of-the-art fine-tuning process that perfectly complements the latest technological developments in the automotive industry. Tyres with manufacturer's markings can of course also be used on other vehicles.

Incredibly capable tyre for all conditions, but my experience on the roads in West Yorkshire will probably dictate that I don&#39;t purchase these tyres again as they are too soft on the sidewall, they do need some sort of protective band. The roads a terrible around Haworth for potholes, and in this case I could not dodge one and it has ripped the sidewall and damaged the rim, rendering the tyre scrap.

Progressive, great feel, and get to temp relatively promptly. In the dry they build confidence, in the wet, phenomenal compared to my previous Pirelli P Zero grip. They don&#39;t go off unless you unduly punish them - a road tyre. Unsettled by standing water, but to be expexted at 305 on the rear. I can&#39;t fault them really. Not used in below 4 degrees.

The tyres perform well. At that price I would expect no less. (But Michelins tend to cost even more than Continentals.) We don&#39;t get a lot of snow in Essex, England these days, but when we lived in parts of Germany where (at least then) it snowed in winter we always found Continental Winter Tyres performed well. And indeed I&#39;ve left the winter tyres on for the summer this year. Partly through laziness. But also, low profile summer tyres look &quot;cool&quot; with alloy in the show rooms, but with all the pot holes and broken roads here in England, slightly thicker tyres on (slightly smaller) steel rims offer better resilience (and comfort). These are great winter tyres which I run all year round ( living in rural Wales). The problem is getting them in the size I need. I generally have to order at least 3 months before I am going to need them so this review is actually for the tyres I bought two years ago and which still have about 5000 miles (8000 km) wear left. The original summer tyres fitted to the car when I bought it new only lasted 25000 miles so these Continentals actually represent good value for money - and they don&rsquo;t skid on muddy farm tracks in summer. I had a puncture and the runflat function worked well. But these tyres cannot be repaired by the usual method and there was no chance of getting a new pair of tyres in this size (have to replace in pairs on this car). My only option was the &lsquo;slime&rsquo; injection which has worked perfectly. No loss of pressure over the last 5000 miles.

A much more balanced and user friendly tyre than the Pirelli winters they replaced which were supplied by BMW. Less tramlining. More precise grip and steering yet also more comfortable ride. Unable to accurately comment on fuel consumption as I haven&rsquo;t monitored it that closely. Snow use not really tested this winter in the UK so can&rsquo;t comment with any true experience.

The tyres perform well. At that price I would expect no less. (But Michelins tend to cost even more than Continentals.) We don&#39;t get a lot of snow in Essex, England these days, but when we lived in parts of Germany where (at least then) it snowed in winter we always found Continental Winter Tyres performed well. And indeed I&#39;ve left the winter tyres on for the summer this year. Partly through laziness. But also, low profile summer tyres look &quot;cool&quot; with alloy in the show rooms, but with all the pot holes and broken roads here in England, slightly thicker tyres on (slightly smaller) steel rims offer better resilience (and comfort). Most of my driving is on country roads with varying conditions dry , wet , muddy and in winter snow and ice thrown into the mix . These tyres have handled everything and performed great for the price. Have had branded tyres before fitting these which cracked and perished and did not last as long .

In damp or wet on corners they handle very well but certain tarmac can feel it slide abit but not enough for you to panic but enough for you to know to back off Dry does very well like Midrange tyres depending what power car you got of course But got them on very cheap offer compare to other midrange all season they around &pound;150 and I got theses from &pound;130 to &pound;98 if they wasn&#39;t on offer I wouldn&#39;t of brought them and if they needed replacing would I buy them again depends they don&#39;t go higher then &pound;100 otherwise I get midrange tyres
