Compared to winter tyres, the rubber mixture of the summer tyres is harder, even in high temperatures. Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

Original equipment quality: optimum adjustment to the vehicle
Tyres with a special OEM marking on the sidewall, e.g. "MO" for Mercedes-Benz, were developed in cooperation with a specific car manufacturer and the tyre industry. These tyres have been homologated by the vehicle manufacturer and are a perfect match for a specific model. They have been specially designed to highlight or further improve the performance characteristics of the car in question, thus representing the culmination of a state-of-the-art fine-tuning process that perfectly complements the latest technological developments in the automotive industry. Tyres with manufacturer's markings can of course also be used on other vehicles.

The loudest tires ever bought in 30 years... I went back to seller who recommended brand and model, he replied is road&#39;s fault... Now after just 2000km I am looking forward to wear them out, as these tires turned a very very quiet car (reason why I bough it) in a rumble of madness on the motorway where grainy asphalt is used for draining water... let me reiterate: the loudest tires ever bought in 30 years !! I am italian and was happy to buy an italian product... after this experience... no more Pirelli... EVER ! There are so many good brands out there. Pirelli if you read this review, I am available to sell back these tires to you immediately. A very unhappy customer.

Was upgrading wheels so decided to get all new tyres aswell so picked tyres that were of a better make with good properties however they do slip easily on a wet road more than I had expected, give a comfortable ride considering the state of some roads seem to be wearing well although not done a large mileage on these so far, road noise is acceptable, all in all I would say they seem to be a decent tyre overall

These tyres were absolutely poor on my BMW. The car felt like alignment was off and the car had no stability, going above 60mph was a very scary experience. I removed them and put back my old continentals with 1mm tread and tested because people claimed my alignment was off, but no, it was these tyres they are terrible - nankang ns20. I removed and sold and bought a pair of pirelli p zero

Fitted to a 140bhp front whee drive car. Taking into account these are a budget tyre, grip in the dry is good and spirited driving can be accommodated safely. Tyre in the wet is good but no tyre is safe on the limit in the wet. Because of my low mileage I cannot comment on the rate of wear but must be realistic, after all it is a budget product.

I was sceptical about the quality of these Nankang tyres, when I bought them I was influenced by the price, but I have been pleasantly surprised by the grip level both in the dry and wet. I like to drive quickly but not dangerously and I have felt when the tyres have been close to their limit, which is a big plus point. My only complaint would be they do tend to follow tracks in the road, but they are quite wide.

Excellent driving experience on these tyres. They feel safe, sturdy and solid on the road in heat, heavy rain, slippery roads due to mud, country roads, uneven and good surfaces, I have not yet tried in snow or ice. To any walkers reading this, they feel like vibram soles for my car!

Just a brilliant all round tyre for the price point, been using them on my VW and parents cars for a good few years, mileage out them is not great if you drive on the limit all the time, but they inspire that as they grip very will in the dry and the wet, as per usual Cooper tyres have always been good on british roast with typical british weather - Also part of the Avon tyre lot, associated Chinese brands are Superia, Austone, Fortune etc, if it&#39;s B or A rated for wet you can almost guarantee it to be the case these days.

The MX5 Mk3 NC is generally regarded by enthusiasts as the worst handling of all the MX5&#39;s due to its extra height, weight, and suspension settings but I deliberately selected this particular version for its comfort, power folding roof, and pleasant ride. When first purchased the car was fitted with ridiculously wide [10&quot;] rims shod with obscure American tyres. It handled like a pig, followed every white line, and a matchstick on the road felt like a small boulder. Fortunately I swapped the big wheels, with another enthusiast, and acquired a set of 16&quot; Momo alloys. These wheels were shod with Falken tyres, two of which were almost new and two almost shot. The decision was whether to change tyre brand completely or see how the Falkens fared. The various MX5 Forums showed a wide range of differing views on the best tyres for my MX5, at hugely differing costs, so I decided as an experiment to stick with the with Falkens and subsequently fitted a new pair to the front. At this stage I should add that it has taken me three years to rebuild this MX5, it is probably my last car, and it is very rarely driven to its limits. Whilst I still enjoy a spirited drive around the enticing Welsh and Shropshire roads, and the occasional run to Essex and the South Coast, I gave up thrashing my cars when I retired from the circuits over 50 years ago! Today safety, comfort, and pleasure are my prioroties! Over three years the Falkens have performed well for &quot;budget&quot; tyres. In the dry they behave well, are quiet, and very predictable. In the wet they can be induced to loose grip [especially on the rear] but I have never had the front break away unexpectedly or in a dangerous manner. An over enthusiastic right foot will induce wheelspin when pulling away in the wet, even in town, but the Falkens soon regain traction. In the dry the rear can be induced to &quot;hang out&quot; but I have never had any major concerns about the car swapping ends. Some of the younger members of the MX5 fraternity have told me that [when run at higher pressure] the Falkens behave well on the track but wear quite quickly which is something I have not tried, and will not experience. Ive driven it pretty hard at times and whatever has been thrown at these tyres, wet or dry, they have stood up to it. Not a hint of losing it. Exactly what you expect, from mid range premium make tyres.

These are the B-Silent Model and they were 235/55 R19 105Y but this system will not let me specify 55 height. These tyres are absolutely brilliant! I fitted them on the rear and they stopped the road noise from the rear completely. I just wish I had not fitted something different to the front previously, as soon as the fronts wear out I will change to these. I have had no problem with grip, despite racing others around roundabouts.

Excellent in the wet, no hydroplaning or wheeljerk when driving into puddles at speed. This is my second set of this tyre for this reason.

The tyre is with overall good performance. On wet is losing grip in the corners, however braking in wet conditions is solid

On my second set of these tyres, excellent grip and handling. Good in the wet too

On wet roads, the cornering capability is reduced compared to Bridgestones, however these tyres cost 30% less. All in all, for mixed driving, it&rsquo;s a great all rounder, especially since it&rsquo;s very reasonably priced. A decent everyday tyre. We&rsquo;ll see how long it lasts, but seems promising, so far. Noise level is quite low too.

This is the only tyre in this profile/size 175/65 R15 that allows me to enjoy the mini&rsquo;s true character (the go kart handling!). This tyre has reasonable/good roll resistance (!) and great grip and handling. Most tyres these days feel like it&rsquo;s on jelly with the &ldquo;low roll resistance&rdquo; fashion. I&rsquo;ve not seen better fuel economy with the others in any case. Obviously because they grip well they wear more quickly than say a Michelin energy but really this is the only premium tyre I&rsquo;ve found that is like a sports tyre in characteristics for this profile and 15inch...which works well on the mini. It doesn&rsquo;t need big rims and low profile tyres with these continentals.

This is the second set of the same tyres, and yes they hold the road well. When you have 20 something inch of rubber on the road they can really hold there own. The Which magazine holds Bridgestone to high esteem.
