Best tyre yet...Had Michelin before and good but this is better. Not cheap but actually works out because they seem to last longer. Can't fault..No flaws

runflat makes these tires extremely unconfortable, other than that excelent tire

17.11.2015 from viktor vari
excellent tyres for very reasonable price. definitely would buy them again
10.09.2015 from GES
Supposed to give excellent fuel efficiency. Getting poorer MPG that I did from my Continental Sports! Difficult to say but wear does not look too good on front, doubt I'll get another 12k out of them!
09.09.2015 from Joseph Kinney
Starting to lose some of that high end grip when pushing hard but a very good tyre, great performance and very predictable.
02.07.2015 from Saulius
Very good tyre, but wears very quickly. But again, if you want solid grip in wet, the compound has to be soft and it means it will wear quicker than others. Had p-zero previously, was a bit noisy, dunlop makes much less noise.

16.02.2023 from Alasdair
A solid tyre I've refitted to the car several times already. Excellent grip on wet and dry and more comfortable than the SportContact they replaced with marginal difference in performance. Only difference felt was feeling marginally more tyre wall flex if driving very hard in corners but a lovely balance for comfort and excellent grip. They are slightly louder than other tyres which is a minus but worth it for overall performance. Very predictable behaviour wet and dry. Only other downside is Conti shipping tyres with slightly lower than average new tread which makes it a bit more expensive over the life than similar priced tyres from other brands.
26.02.2022 from Suki Nandhra
Great tyres and the reason why I always come back to Conti’s
24.03.2021 from N Moss
More comfortable than a lot of winter tyres we have had. A bit noisy but not too bad. Fuel economy better than most.

29.09.2019 from Lukasz Galanty
First time use Maxxis tyres, has worn on front wheels. Can’t believe that tyres from budget class, for me a lot better than previous Uniroyal Rainsport 3. Quality to price, definitely recommended, probably will use again.
01.02.2019 from Richard
These tyres are quiet and grip well in the dry. They also brake well in the wet too and have good aquaplaning resistance. Fuel economy is fine too. However, on a wet road when going around a roundabout at anything over 25mph they loose lateral grip and the car slides sideways. If you push on the power then they completely break off and the car understeers. I am used to it now and drive gently but could be a bit dangerous for those who aren't experienced drivers. Also on cold damp roads they lose traction at low speeds when turning full lock in a manouvere, sending the ESP system off. I am disappointed because of this and won't buy again or recommend.
26.01.2019 from Alan
The worst fault i have found with these tyres are cornering. Even at relatively slow speed the vehicle slides, giving up grip rather easy. They remind me of a set of Falcons a purchased a few year back. Not good. Apart from that, an all round decent cheap tyre. Previous tyre i had on Accord were Michelon. A hard act to follow but at £185 a corner !!!!
09.12.2018 from Cristian

23.10.2018 from Brendan
Great predictable tyres, close to the mark on all scores, affordable, dependable grip, good balance of dynamics, compliance and progressive slip when pushed. Because they're NOT asymmetric you can swap them across rims to share out inner shoulder wear and extract a lot more useful mileage. That's a rarity these days, and together with no major weaknesses it makes these tyres a great option.

I changed from ditch finders to these so is a great improvement but these saved my family's life's literally my brakes failed and tyres kept us on the rd when needed apart from that they take the bumps in the rd ok amazing grip in the wet . I can't really comment on wear as it's too early. Recommended

Smooth ride. Incredible grip that even prevents the traction control from engaging in brisk pull aways from a standstill. (My car is FWD). The only negative with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 is that tyre wear does appear to be slightly higher than with a regular tyre.
15.02.2024 from David Wood
Flourless great in all conditions even got us home at 40 to 50 mph after running over something in the fast lane of the M5 northbound. Can’t praise enough.
09.02.2023 from John Molloy
These tyres are noticeable quieter than my previous tyres, Kumho Exta. Cornering grip is better and fuel consumption is slightly better
09.12.2021 from Nicholas
I've driven roughly 22,000km as this was when i would of rebuilt the engine and got the car ready for road, by far these are the best tyres I've ever experienced on a car, I had used continentals and dunlop's beforehand, 2 competitors to Michelin, and before now, I always struggled with understeer under sharp cornering after periods of rain, with the PS4's, this has been completely eradicated, wet grip is by far the best in its class, with not much coming against it, usually the car would also break grip in wet conditions when in low gears speeding up, this has also vanished, in terms of lifespan, there is roughly 5mm left on the tyres after 22k km, so lifespan is also excellent. I am very confident in using these tyres and will be purchasing again once it comes time to replace.

Overall good tyres, sidewall is a bit too flexy and it gives very vague steering feel. The rubber is resistant to wear and can handle repeated hot laps up to 5-10 then they start to lose grip. Quite fun tyre and very safe for normal road driving.

Verry good tyres , nice grip on wet roads , on mud , any test has pass done and easy , so happy with it and will buy soon again

16.08.2024 from Jan Olsen
My size tire was not available on the site, it's 21" and not 18". My experience is maybe unique to Tesla cars, but it has only 1-2mm left after 17000 km. With Hankook and Pirelli, I've gotten better milage... The tire can suddenly lose grip in aqua planing conditions, which I did experience once on the highway - and not with any other tire. But maybe all tires would have this issue under the same conditions. My main issue is that the tire wears our very quickly especially on the rim area, making tires wear out prematurely and they easily puncture if not detected (can see white threads, but not visible easily if on the inner rim). Some of this is likely due to Tesla ABS system activating easily in sharp curves, as I have not experienced these issues with other car brands. Both model 3 and model S have this issue. These tires I need to replace quicker than 17000 km as one of tires has just approx 1mm thread.
07.06.2024 from Malcolm McKay
I chose the Pilot Sport 5s for my car for 6000 miles of arduous driving, leading a classic car rally around all of Greece. We were heavily laden and driving hard on very mixed surfaces. The Pilot Sports never let us down and showed impressive grip throughout. Even better, 10,000km later they have worn remarkably little, and very evenly. The sister car was on Toyos which admittedly are cheaper, but showed a LOT more wear.
22.08.2022 from Justin
Size = 255/40/19. I had the Pilot sport 4 on the front, went for the PS5 on the back as they were just available and they were great. I would definitely go for them again but I just changed my car and it looks like Michelin do not support the new size tyres (305/30/ZR21) but I will keep checking Michelin.

Have use these tyres from 15k to 33k km (car had they when I bought it. By the time I got them, they were about one third used. Dry grip fine, wet grip for cornering, braking and traction not good at all. Because of the hard rubber though, I think they will last till at least 40k km. Wear is even, balance is maintained and tyres are still quiet at 33k km. My main issue is horrible bump thump and shock adsorption of sharper road imperfections, like speed control strips and potholes where the tyres feel like they are made up of almost solid rubber. Had resorted to running them 10 percent under recommended pressure just to live with them in this respect. Recently rode in a same car year/ model as mine running non-RFT tyres and the shock absorption capabilities are as different as night and day. Car feels like it actually has air in the tyres, not solid rubber! Will be fitting non-RFT tyres to my car soon.

These tyres were absolutely poor on my BMW. The car felt like alignment was off and the car had no stability, going above 60mph was a very scary experience. I removed them and put back my old continentals with 1mm tread and tested because people claimed my alignment was off, but no, it was these tyres they are terrible - nankang ns20. I removed and sold and bought a pair of pirelli p zero

Fitted to a 140bhp front whee drive car. Taking into account these are a budget tyre, grip in the dry is good and spirited driving can be accommodated safely. Tyre in the wet is good but no tyre is safe on the limit in the wet. Because of my low mileage I cannot comment on the rate of wear but must be realistic, after all it is a budget product.

I was sceptical about the quality of these Nankang tyres, when I bought them I was influenced by the price, but I have been pleasantly surprised by the grip level both in the dry and wet. I like to drive quickly but not dangerously and I have felt when the tyres have been close to their limit, which is a big plus point. My only complaint would be they do tend to follow tracks in the road, but they are quite wide.

For the price I think you will struggle to find a better tyre.

225 40 R18 Summer Tyres With Precise Steering Performance

Sports cars are designed to provide precise and dynamic steering performance. With the 225 40 R18 summer tyres this driving behaviour is supported, with which the manoeuvrability of the vehicle can be in the border area. The tyre's cornering grip is increased when speed is beyond 155 mph in dry and wet road conditions. For this reason, the purchase decision for the 225 40 R18 summer tyre is flexible as many models meet the high demands. However, the price should play a minor role in the choice of tyre profile.

Unprecedented Stability

Vehicles with a powerful engine such as Audi S3 or BMW 130i meet the right preference with 225 40 R18 as a summer tyre. The 18-inch wheels ensure short braking distances, which gives the car stability when starting off as well as accelerating out of the corners. Due to the broad and strong profile, your driving pleasure knows no boundaries. With the right tyre temperature, it feels as if the vehicle is moving on rails. Because it is a very popular tyre model for sports cars, consumers will find a very diverse range.

Run-flat Tyres

As with most tyres, the consumer can also choose between different speed categories for the 225 40 R18, depending on the maximum speed that makes sense for the driver. The decision for a model of a particular manufacturer depends heavily on personal preferences. There are models of tyres in speed categories from 105 to 186 mph. If comfort is more important to you, choose between variations with lower noise level or high fuel-efficiency.

The 225 40 R18 are also available as Run-flat summer tyres. These models have a self-supporting function and make it possible to continue driving for a short time even after a puncture. So you have the chance to reach the next garage before towing high costs arise.

Regardless of whether it is a 225 40 R18 or another model, Tirendo.co.uk offers a comprehensive range of all brands and profiles. We list numerous tyres and products such as alloy or steel rims.
