Summer tyres - optimal grip guaranteed!
On dry roads or mild weather, your tyres have to face some increased demands and must always meet safety standards. Compared to winter tyres, the rubber mixture of the summer tyres is harder, even in high temperatures. Default rolling resistance and wear are smaller, resulting in a greater lifespan, comfort and increased stability. Choose now from our offer your summer tyres at an affordable price. Our portfolio includes a wide range of tyre brands

Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

/
SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.

Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.

Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!

Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.

Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.

Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

Original equipment quality: optimum adjustment to the vehicle
Tyres with a special OEM marking on the sidewall, e.g. "MO" for Mercedes-Benz, were developed in cooperation with a specific car manufacturer and the tyre industry. These tyres have been homologated by the vehicle manufacturer and are a perfect match for a specific model. They have been specially designed to highlight or further improve the performance characteristics of the car in question, thus representing the culmination of a state-of-the-art fine-tuning process that perfectly complements the latest technological developments in the automotive industry. Tyres with manufacturer's markings can of course also be used on other vehicles.

The loudest tires ever bought in 30 years... I went back to seller who recommended brand and model, he replied is road's fault... Now after just 2000km I am looking forward to wear them out, as these tires turned a very very quiet car (reason why I bough it) in a rumble of madness on the motorway where grainy asphalt is used for draining water... let me reiterate: the loudest tires ever bought in 30 years !! I am italian and was happy to buy an italian product... after this experience... no more Pirelli... EVER ! There are so many good brands out there. Pirelli if you read this review, I am available to sell back these tires to you immediately. A very unhappy customer.
07.01.2022 from Huggies
Was upgrading wheels so decided to get all new tyres aswell so picked tyres that were of a better make with good properties however they do slip easily on a wet road more than I had expected, give a comfortable ride considering the state of some roads seem to be wearing well although not done a large mileage on these so far, road noise is acceptable, all in all I would say they seem to be a decent tyre overall

excellent tyres for very reasonable price. definitely would buy them again
10.09.2015 from GES
Supposed to give excellent fuel efficiency. Getting poorer MPG that I did from my Continental Sports! Difficult to say but wear does not look too good on front, doubt I'll get another 12k out of them!
09.09.2015 from Joseph Kinney
Starting to lose some of that high end grip when pushing hard but a very good tyre, great performance and very predictable.
02.07.2015 from Saulius
Very good tyre, but wears very quickly. But again, if you want solid grip in wet, the compound has to be soft and it means it will wear quicker than others. Had p-zero previously, was a bit noisy, dunlop makes much less noise.

Kilometers driven 21000
16.12.2025 from Edward Nunn
these are on my track/fun car and replaced the 20 year old tyres on it which came with the car, they completely changed the performance of the car, for the better, they grip exceptionally, especially when set to optimum pressure for the conditions, and hold traction under very heavy braking. They are as described a dry weather tyre with the ability to just about cope in the wet, and my experience is of dry track days with a very wet drive cross country the day before a track day which was ok, although i could feel a massive loss in traction crossing white lines on the motorway, and the morning before a track day driving through wet cool lanes which required a huge amount of care and attention not to end up in a hedge.

Really poor wear. Would not buy again. Was getting near 20k miles on cheaper brands. Expected more from Firestone
21.01.2020 from James
These tyres perform well, they're comfortable and they're quiet, but they're fragile and wear too quickly. They get punctured and damaged really easily and don't last as long as I would expect. I've had two full sets of these tyres but after yet another puncture I'm sick of constantly having to change them so I've had them all replaced with another brand. I won't buy these again and I don't recommend them.

The 225 45 R17 Summer Tyre for the Sporty Compact Class

Compact and mid-range vehicles with a powerful engine require a wide tyre to get enough grip in the corners, and it is the reason why the size 225 45 R17 is becoming increasingly important as a summer tyre for vehicle manufacturers as well as consumers. Consequently, the 225 45 R17 summer tyres, that support a sporty driving style and allow a precise steering behaviour become the standard range of all well-known tyre manufacturers.

A Comfortable Driving Behavior

However, the 225 45 R17 summer tyre is not only reserved for drivers who want to enjoy their driving at higher speeds. Additionally, this tyre leaves nothing to be desired visually and functionally and robs none of the dynamics at top speeds. Consumers enjoy a pleasant running smoothness in connection with an always controllable car driving behaviour. In addition to the well-known premium manufacturers such as Goodyear or Continental, consumers also have the opportunity to choose a passenger car tyre of this dimension from a lower price range.

The Balanced Performance

With the 225 45 R17 as summer tyres, consumers have the opportunity to make a flexible purchasing decision. Almost all models meet the necessary criteria to increase road safety. Here, however, the price should not be the focus. Also, brand manufacturers offer tyres with different profiles. These also contribute to the best possible road-holding and safe handling in curves or at top speeds. It, therefore, makes sense to incorporate your driving preferences when purchasing the 225 45 R17 summer tyres.

If you want to find cheap tyres that match your preferences regarding quality and price at Tirendo.co.uk you will discover a wide selection of these and other tyre dimensions. Order conveniently online and get your new tyres after a few working days. With new 225 45 R17 summer tyres from our range, you can again enjoy the highest safety on the road at an attractive price!
