Winter tyres - for a save driving on snow and ice.
The "M + S" (or M & S, MS) marking can currently be found on winter and all season tyres. Besides this marking, a snowflake symbol can be found on some models. The M + S tyres that have the snowflake symbol meet the higher quality standards. Since 2011, winter tyres are mandatory in Ireland. Having a special blend of rubber that resists to low temperatures, these tyres are more adapted to winter conditions than the summer tyres. Therefore, the car will have a good grip even dealing with low temperatures. The optimised profile reduces the risk of hydroplaning and provides a good grip in snowy and icy conditions. The larger grooves and the additional blades improve stability when switching from snow to wet and to dry road conditions. We have winter tyres suitable for your car. Choose your favorite brand and place an order online in order to take advantage of our competitive prices!

Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

/
SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.

Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.

Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!

Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.

Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.

Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

Tyres optimised for electric vehicles.
Tyre developed for electric vehicles. These tyres can also be used without hesitation on vehicles with other drive systems.

Original equipment quality: optimum adjustment to the vehicle
Tyres with a special OEM marking on the sidewall, e.g. "MO" for Mercedes-Benz, were developed in cooperation with a specific car manufacturer and the tyre industry. These tyres have been homologated by the vehicle manufacturer and are a perfect match for a specific model. They have been specially designed to highlight or further improve the performance characteristics of the car in question, thus representing the culmination of a state-of-the-art fine-tuning process that perfectly complements the latest technological developments in the automotive industry. Tyres with manufacturer's markings can of course also be used on other vehicles.

These tires are Continental Viking 6 clones (compound, sipes, grooves, pattern, literally everything, compare yourself), branded differently and hence cheaper.... Believe me, these are very good! Buying chinese winter tires is like gambling, you never know how they will perform as the reviews are non existant for the specific tire / brand or very few.... but im here to say, these are maybe the best winter tires ive had... they are not as good as Nordic Friction tires (Nokian Hakkapelitta, well, they are the best Winter tires in the world) but just as good and/or better than the rest honestly.... like Nokian WR D4 or Continental Vik. 6.... infact they are like Continental Vik. 6 clones, you would think they are a fake version of them, but nope, they are just that good.... which is very good...

Great tyres for the price. Kept grip in the snow and ice we had in winter. Noticed a big difference in grip compared to my all seasons tyres. They perform brilliantly for the price. Extra fuel consumption is minimal. Would purchase again.
30.04.2026 from Roderick Johnston
There was an error with my address, the courier got a mixed of and different address which dose not exist , and therefor could not deliver my tyers . I am still waiting for any response to the investigation into where my tyers are from mytyres , at the recommendation of the courier . In short I had to use the deteriorating winter tyres I fortunately still had , which performed perfectly adequately for the duration of what winter we had .

Excellent value, great performance. One of the quietest winter tires I have ever used.
16.02.2015 from Gerald Young
I had bought Toyo for my wife and Michelin for my son at hefty prices and now had to buy winter tires for my Suzuki. I had reservations about Chinese tires, but decided to try a set. What a surprise. Easy on the wallet and an excellent winter tire.
03.11.2014 from Harold Wilson
Very soft rubber, great grip on ice and in the wet, good in the snow, with extra grip particles in the tread. Great tyre at a great price. Much better than the Toyo's that I had on before. This is my future brand.

If you are living in a region where winter season prevails most of the time,  you have to be meticulous while driving a car. There are many factors to look into while selecting the best tyres for winter driving. Besides brand selection, there are other elements that must be considered. And size os one of those vital elements thats play a significant role in improving the driving skills. There are many sizes that might fit your vehicle, 185/65 R15 winter tyres are one of those tyres. What these tyres offer and what are their specifications, let’s have a look.

Wide Variety of 185/65 R15 Winter Tyres

The size code of a tyre is very important to be analyzed. Since it carries a load of information that defines its specifications and makes the rider aware whether it is fit for his vehicle. The 185/65 R15 winter tyres have the following specifications.

Tyre’s Width - The first three digits ‘185’ convey the information about tyre’s width. This is cross-sectional width in millimeters.
Aspect Ratio - The next two digits tell about the aspect ratio (or referred as profile height) of the tyre expressed in percentage form. Means this tyre has a profile height of 65% with respect to its width.
Construction - The symbol ‘R’ is used to define the mode of construction. This is a radially constructed tyre (and most of the tyres today have radial construction).
Rim Size - The last two digits ‘15’ here specify the rim size in inches. This basically refers to the inner diameter of a wheel in inches.

With the above information in hand, a rider (whether expert or novice) will be capable of acquiring the best winter tyre for his vehicle.
