The exact size of a tyre can be found on its sidewall.
The following chart shows you how to read a tyre size.
1. Overall tire width in mm
2. Ratio of tire height to tire width in%
3. Tire design: ''R'' = radial tires (widely used), ''D'' or ''-'' = diagonal tires (rare)
4. Required rim diameter for this tire in inches
5. Key figure for tire load capacity
6. Key figure for the permissible maximum speed (speed index)
7. Motorcycle tire identification, tires only approved for motorcycles
8. DOT labeling
9. Date of manufacture of the tire (week of production / year of production)

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.

The rear tyre 150/70/17 needed replacing after 3000km. The photo below shows the tread depth compared to a 4mm spoke. Tread depth is about half the spoke, 2mm. This is very poor performance for a supposedly quality tire. I previously had a Shinko rear tyre and completed 8700km two up highway riding. The shinko on the front has completed 9800km and still good. I have gone back to a Shinko.

These tyre are hands down the best road tyres I have had on my Africa twin. The offer a level of grip I didn&rsquo;t even know existed on my bike. I&rsquo;ve used them for light trail riding in the dry and a trackday. It&rsquo;s a do anything tyres. Would highly recommend this to anyone of a adventure bike unless u intend to do heavy offroading.

I am in the older age category but still like riding enthusiastically. I live in the northern part of the UK with some brilliant twisty roads, usually well surfaced and reasonably quiet of traffic. These are the roads I like, where I can enjoy myself. Don&#39;t take all of the star ratings as accurate as some are not fully tested but they inspire trust and confidence. Also fitted to my VFR800

The front gives way under cornering with no warning. On at least two occasions under normal cornering and not heavy or fast, the tyre has lost grip. I was lucky to manage to keep the bile from dropping. i usually cover about 8000 - 1000 miles a year in all conditions. I used the RoadTec 01 in the past and they were a better all round tyre, the new SE seems to be lacking in feedback. I would use the RoadTec 01 again but not the SE.

Very dissapointed. Tires arrived bumpy. Front tire felt like tractor tire, shipped it back to mitas slovenia, they sent another one (less bumpy) but still bad.

no complaints, the tire is more than great for the money. the handling of the motorcycle is satisfactory both in the wet and in the dry.. the rear tire lasted about 9500 km of quite wild driving in wet and dry conditions.. even on the highway over 200 km/h it is very stable.. the front tire would have lasted a few more km..

Have had no problems at all since fitting these tyres. Live in the country do occasional poor road surface, mud etc and had no nasty surprises. Pleased with them and appear to be wearing well too. No speed demon but have confidence in the tyre to deliver when needed.

Fitted these to my NC750X for a trip to Morocco where I knew I&rsquo;d need something with all Little off road ability (90:10 in favour of road). They replaced some Bridgestone 023s, which had been a big improvement over the standard Dunlop Trailmaxs, so I didn&rsquo;t expect much improvement. I was pleasantly surprised, especially in the wet where grip and feedback is massively improved, giving much more confidence cornering in the wet. I do around 7000 miles a year commuting in all weathers and these are the best tyres I&rsquo;ve used.

Have used the tyres both on road and off road. The tyres are more capable than I am as a rider therefore dealt easily with everything I have put them through with ease.

Tyres were purchased to do some green lane riding. These are very suitable for the purpose and handle as good as road tyres when in the tarmac. Only downside is that you get around 3000 miles out of a rear tyre and it&rsquo;s done!

This tyre has been great. After initial fitting the steering was a bit strange but after 50-100 miles it felt like a road tyre. Great off road and one of the best knobbly tyres on the road. Done 10500km on the tyre, only have the tkc80 on the front. I have a 70 rocks on the rear. I believe the front will do another rear. Tyre was great but the delivery time from the provider was shocking

I&#39;ve been riding 39 years, Still lovin it &amp; still pulling the trigger. If a K1600 bangs past you It&#39;s probably me and wife. The tyres have been great over almost 3000km this summer in UK &amp; ireland (a lot of 2-up with luggage) with no sign of flatfacing yet. This tyre handles a commute of 1.5 miles rough unpaved surface and loose steep rocky surface, and 40 miles of fast tarmac extremely well.

Amazing to own these tyres. They are like wearing combat boots instead of trainers, that sums it up best. They are far grippier and longer lasting than is supposed to be possible. I rode 20 miles with a bad misfire on flooded roads in the pouring rain and these tyres were 100% sure footed. They were not nimble in corners, but they stomp really nicely. I miss the sound they make and the nasty terrain they can chew through and I will be buying them again.

I chose this tyre for my trip from the UK to Morocco. In summary the tyre was superb and I would choose it again for a similar trip. In the dry there is very little difference in feel between this and a road tyre. The grip is excellent. In the wet the grip is still good but it doesn&#39;t quite give the same confidence of a less aggressive adventure tyre or road tyre. The tyre maintained its pressure over the whole 4000 mile trip and the firm carcass protected my cast wheels offroad. I would recommend not airing down offroad. The tyre wear is absolutely superb, I have now covered 6000 miles and I think if I wanted to push it I could do 10,000.
