Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

/
SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.

Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.

Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!

Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.

Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.

Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

Tyres optimised for electric vehicles.
Tyre developed for electric vehicles. These tyres can also be used without hesitation on vehicles with other drive systems.

Original equipment quality: optimum adjustment to the vehicle
Tyres with a special OEM marking on the sidewall, e.g. "MO" for Mercedes-Benz, were developed in cooperation with a specific car manufacturer and the tyre industry. These tyres have been homologated by the vehicle manufacturer and are a perfect match for a specific model. They have been specially designed to highlight or further improve the performance characteristics of the car in question, thus representing the culmination of a state-of-the-art fine-tuning process that perfectly complements the latest technological developments in the automotive industry. Tyres with manufacturer's markings can of course also be used on other vehicles.

21.09.2025 from John
I bought these tyres as wanted a budget sport tyre for our recently purchased vauxhall Insignia, so got a pair from Oponeo. They sent Sport 2's which are a Chinese made model. Have been generally happy with these as been on some long & many short trips in last year. They have given confidence inspiring performance through all weathers & never given me reason to regret buying them. They wear well too as still lots of tread left. Recommended...
23.08.2022 from Callam
Good grip on a dry warm day , Starts excessive oversteer in the wet, and they are almost down to the treadwear indicator in just under 3 k miles . Easily looses traction under acceleration in the wet

30.10.2017 from VP
Excellent value, great performance. One of the quietest winter tires I have ever used.
16.02.2015 from Gerald Young
I had bought Toyo for my wife and Michelin for my son at hefty prices and now had to buy winter tires for my Suzuki. I had reservations about Chinese tires, but decided to try a set. What a surprise. Easy on the wallet and an excellent winter tire.
03.11.2014 from Harold Wilson
Very soft rubber, great grip on ice and in the wet, good in the snow, with extra grip particles in the tread. Great tyre at a great price. Much better than the Toyo's that I had on before. This is my future brand.

04.04.2021 from Marco L.
Piacevolmente impressionato, gomme silenziose, consumi bassi e ottimo grip. Per una guida 80% extraurbana e 20% cittadina con andatura tranquilla sono veramente ottime. Magari le crossclimate della Michelin saranno più performanti, ma a questo prezzo è difficile trovare di meglio.
27.10.2019 from Craig McQueen
Sticks well to the road on corners in all conditions at all speeds. Gives confidence. Tyre is 225/40 R18. Not size available in drop down menu here. Built in kerb protection is welcome on such low profile tyres. Good value tyres, have used this brand for years over about 500,000miles with no issues, lasting 30000 miles plus on drive axles and had 66000miles on trailing rear axle pair!

Kilometers driven 14000
13.07.2021 from GK
I got rid of these tyres on Week 26 of Year 2021 (2621). My Petlas Progreen PT525 tyres were purchased in Singapore in December 2020. They were manufactured in Week 34 of Year 2020 (3420). In just half a year of usage, covering a distance of 14000km, less than 1 year from manufacturing date, they started developing cracks on the sidewalls, similar to those that you would see only on tyres 5 years or older. Either the rubber was not suitable for Singapore climate resulting in the rubber drying out and "dry rotting", or there was some serious QC deficiency in the manufacturing process. For safety reasons, they have since been replaced and thrown away. Such a shame considering the tyres provided decent grip in dry and wet, though the road noise and comfort were average. Those of you who are running on Petlas, suggest you check the sidewalls for cracks. Will NEVER buy nor recommend Petlas tyres to anyone again in future.

Nexen tyres for impressive performance

Nexen tyres have been built for ‘next century’ driving, hence the name. Manufactured by the first Korean tyre company who has been producing quality tyres for the last 70 years, Nexen tyres come in a full range of ultra-high performance as well as family car and winter tyres; customers have 27 patterns and 200 sizes to choose from. Whether you are looking for quality construction, impressive performance or reliable handling, or a combination of features, Nexen tyres are bound to meet your driving requirements.

Nexen’s car tyres are distributed in over 120 countries, and fitted as OEM (original equipment manufacturer) tyres for a number of vehicle manufacturers. This translates to a wealth of Nexen tyres to choose from whether you are keen on car tyre prices or quality.

Nexen tyres for stability and reliability on wet roads

Nexen tyres are built to use up fuel efficiently, create low noise for comfortable driving, and remove water fast even when driving on surfaces with standing water. Nexen winter tyres are specifically designed to make braking easy even in difficult conditions. Nexen Winguard SnowG, for instance, has 3 wide grooves to enhance traction on wet surfaces.

N Blue Eco Nexen summer tyres perform well in fuel efficiency and carbon dioxide emission tests. The four wide grooves on these Nexen summer tyres are optimized for fast water removal to enhance grip performance on wet roads.

Hydroplaning is a very real, although often invisible, threat to drivers. Winguard and N Blue Eco car tyres are purposely engineered to prevent such accidents.

The CP661 series of Nexen tyres also feature four wide straight grooves for excellent rain removal and anti-aquaplaning performance on wet surfaces. The center block makes cornering and handling stable, while the staring center rib allows responsive handling.

If you are looking for cheap, eco or premium tyres, at Tirendo you will find diversity, quality services, and the best tyre deals! So buy your nexen tyres online, at Tirendo.co.uk.
