Comment:
I recently replaced the original Michelin X radials that came on my Grand Marquis due to age at 25,000 miles. I immediately noticed it handled poorly and didn't track as straight and true as it did with the old tires. (This has improved slightly with miles though). Noise level is a bit more than with the Michelin tires but except-able. The ride however has become extremely harsh, these tires are very unforgiving over even the slightest bump, it feels like I'm driving a 4x4 truck. They also don't seem to hold a balance well, the tire shop has balanced these four times, and each time it only seems to last about a 100 miles before I get a highway speed vibration again. Mpg also dropped from 26 mpg highway to under 18 mpg. The plan is to remove these tires asap and go try something else. I opted for these since they had a more substantial sidewall than the other choices I looked at, but that's the only good thing I can say about them. They also turned an odd brown color about a month after they were installed, I have to keep scrubbing these to keep them black. If I had realized these weren't made in the USA I'd have bought a different tire.
