Excellent Grip on Wet Ice and Snow
The Hakkapeliitta R’s superb grip on wet ice comes from the innovative “Pump Sipes” on the buffed shoulder area. Each Hakkapeliitta R has around 900 “Pump Sipes” that efficiently wipe the wet ice dry and help the tread rubber establish a direct contact with the road. Each “Pump Sipe” has a small water pocket that boosts the removal of water at the point of contact with the road. Other safety features of the Hakkapeliitta R include sharp shoulders to improve lateral grip, break boosters on the back of the tread block, center rib to increase driving stability and new “Multitread” design promotes even wear and low heat generation.
Ultra-Low Rolling Resistance
The new Hakkapeliitta R has the lowest rolling resistance of any tire in Nokian Tyres product line.
