Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

I bought these as they rated well performing across the board. Not top in anything but above everything that was top in at least one area. The wet grip and braking is fantastic. Performed well throughout the cold months but we had no snow this year to test them. On warm dry roads the compound or pattern does not allow for an aggressive driving style but I never intended to keep them on in the summer so this was irrelevant to me. They make a noise like driving through standing water in the wet which is strange at first but I wouldn&#39;t say generally they were any noisier than my Eagle asymmetric 2 that they replaced. Did everything I expected from them and will be re fitting them come the winter.

The tyres have been very good in the snow, combined with the 4wd of my car, and in colder and wetter days they work very well. There is a greater noise with warmer days though and I think a slight drop in the mpg.

This is the only tyre in this profile/size 175/65 R15 that allows me to enjoy the mini&rsquo;s true character (the go kart handling!). This tyre has reasonable/good roll resistance (!) and great grip and handling. Most tyres these days feel like it&rsquo;s on jelly with the &ldquo;low roll resistance&rdquo; fashion. I&rsquo;ve not seen better fuel economy with the others in any case. Obviously because they grip well they wear more quickly than say a Michelin energy but really this is the only premium tyre I&rsquo;ve found that is like a sports tyre in characteristics for this profile and 15inch...which works well on the mini. It doesn&rsquo;t need big rims and low profile tyres with these continentals.

Great tyres , good all round grip, as I live in Scotland the seasons change every 5mins, with plenty of rain &amp; the odd bit of snow , I do some off road driving and never got the car stuck, I do run this type of tyre all year round , but as the car is quite light I always change my tyres when they get down to 3mm , I think this is far safer ,

I went for the BMW approved (star marked) Blizzak and I&rsquo;m very happy with the tyres. I&rsquo;ve had Conti Winter Contact on previous cars and in regular use I would say the Blizzak is very comparable. The car retains decent steering feel and traction on wet and dry roads plus offers a far greater level of grip on snow/slush over a regular tyre. Ride comfort seems pretty much unchanged, as always with winters there is a little more noise but it&rsquo;s slight and after 5 minutes you don&rsquo;t notice! Fuel consumption does increase very slightly over the summer tyres BUT that could be down to the cold weather as much as the tyres!

I bought these so that I wouldn&#39;t have any mishaps during the winter in my beloved car. I was worried that it would be a nightmare to drive in the snow due to being rear wheel drive and its power. I put these tyres on the front and different winter tyres on the rear and never had any problems at all - very surprised and impressed!

Incredibly capable tyre for all conditions, but my experience on the roads in West Yorkshire will probably dictate that I don&#39;t purchase these tyres again as they are too soft on the sidewall, they do need some sort of protective band. The roads a terrible around Haworth for potholes, and in this case I could not dodge one and it has ripped the sidewall and damaged the rim, rendering the tyre scrap.

The loudest tires ever bought in 30 years... I went back to seller who recommended brand and model, he replied is road&#39;s fault... Now after just 2000km I am looking forward to wear them out, as these tires turned a very very quiet car (reason why I bough it) in a rumble of madness on the motorway where grainy asphalt is used for draining water... let me reiterate: the loudest tires ever bought in 30 years !! I am italian and was happy to buy an italian product... after this experience... no more Pirelli... EVER ! There are so many good brands out there. Was upgrading wheels so decided to get all new tyres aswell so picked tyres that were of a better make with good properties however they do slip easily on a wet road more than I had expected, give a comfortable ride considering the state of some roads seem to be wearing well although not done a large mileage on these so far, road noise is acceptable, all in all I would say they seem to be a decent tyre overall

The most expensive conti's I've ever purchased (x4) Ouch!! I've bought a lot of other conti's in the past. Inc Sportcontact & Uniroyal tyres. Ecocontact5 are noisy, very average grip levels in wet & dry conditions. Poor wear levels for a so called eco tyre :-( Neither do I like the feel of them during cornering. I will not buy these budget/mid range level tyres again. I really don't have anything positive to say about these tyres. Apart from when I'm going to change them.
