Barum tyres were founded in 1924 as a manufacturing factory for wellington boots. The company would work under Bata in Czechoslovakia. Later in 1934, it started to produce various types of tyres for the company’s vehicles as it would cost really high to import tyres for their vehicles. Next, in 1945, three different companies – Bata, Mitas and Rubena signed an agreement and launched its joint tyre manufacturing company, Barum Tyres and produced its first radial tyres in 1967. The company the built a new plant to import products from Otrokovice to different places. In 1992, the plant in Otrokovice and Continental AG joined hands in agreement to establish Barum Continental, another branch of tyre manufacturing.

Barum Snovanis consists of unique rubber compound made of silica that provides excellent traction between the surface of the road and the tyre. The tyre provides low rolling resistance resulting in low fuel consumption and hence this decreases the emission of carbon in the atmosphere. The reinforced blocks on the shoulder of the tyre provide high stiffness and the compact shoulder blocks offer better cornering stability along with excellent short braking distance. Some of the tyres have a mileage of one- hundred and seventy kilometers per hour, gaining a speed rating of R while others have a mileage of one- hundred and ninety kilometer per hour, gaining a speed rating of T. All the tyres of Barum comply with the rules and regulations of the European Union and also carries a label of the European Union.
