excellent tyres for very reasonable price. definitely would buy them again
10.09.2015fromGES
Supposed to give excellent fuel efficiency. Getting poorer MPG that I did from my Continental Sports! Difficult to say but wear does not look too good on front, doubt I'll get another 12k out of them!
09.09.2015fromJoseph Kinney
Starting to lose some of that high end grip when pushing hard but a very good tyre, great performance and very predictable.
02.07.2015fromSaulius
Very good tyre, but wears very quickly. But again, if you want solid grip in wet, the compound has to be soft and it means it will wear quicker than others. Had p-zero previously, was a bit noisy, dunlop makes much less noise.

The tyres were used to drive from London to Lech in Austria in February when there was a lot of snow on the roads in the Alps. The Pilot Alpin 5 were on the front wheels of my car and 265/30 - 20 Pilot Alpin PA4 were on the rear axle. I would have preferred to have Pilot Alpin 5 on the rear axle but they are not available in this size.
30.05.2026fromTom Batey
Tyres were superb in the French Alps where we spent the winter skiing. Absolutely fantastic in very snowy and icy conditions
23.05.2023fromPaula Carroll
The grip is excellent especially on wet surfaces. We change to summer tyres for even better grip in warmers weather so have not used them as summer tyres
28.08.2020fromBvdH
I have been driving the Alpin 5 & 6 all year round (never change back to summers anymore). Michelins are safe and break very well in summer and winter despite what the manufacturers say, although I only have experience with Michelin Alpin winter tyres. In the UK it's never 35 degrees for any length of time hence the reason for keeping them on the car in the summer. Can't fault grip either in both winter and summer and in addition to this tyre wear is fantastic. 44000 miles on front tyres (Alpin 5 now replaced by Alpin 6), 66000 miles on rear tyres (Alpin 5). The tyres got through the MOT on an advisory, so next time round I would replace the tyres sooner.

Have tried lots of different snow tyres over years and put these on my 3 series touring to replace the Pirelli zero’s. If anything I thought they ran quieter than the zero’s and plenty of grip in both dry and wet conditions. Used the in snow as well and kept everything moving which is all you want from a snow tyre.
15.01.2026fromJames
As my Volvo is a rear wheel drive automatic I always use winter tyres. Previously had Goodyear ultra grip 9 and still have them on the front. New Goodyear ultra grip 3 on rear. We're great in the recent snow, where front wheel drives were getting stuck, no doubt on summer tyres.
11.01.2025fromAndy Duff
An extremely sure-footed winter tyre that blurs the transition from my summer to winter wheels. As good as it gets.

Feels solid and well placed on road, grip good no snow yet to assess but good in wet.
01.06.2022fromRJ and T
Initially nervous about changing brand from the fitted ones but needn't have worried. As with other cars we have used these on it is a huge improvement and we would buy the same again.
27.03.2021fromMichael Chapman
Probably the best tyres I have used. Comfortable and safe handling in all weather conditions here in Scotland hot summer, wet semi flooded and deep snow during the time owned. The best feature of these tyres on my vehicle is the feeling of safety and confidence with the Crossclimate + fitted
20.03.2021fromKevin Bates
I found this tire to be one of the best all round tires available. No matter the weather the car always felt sure footed. My Octavia was the Vrs model so had plenty of horsepower to transmit, and the Cross Climates made easy work of doing that. High speed driving was safe and quiet as was cornering. A fabulous tire! Only regret is the limited sizes because I can't get them to fit my Fabia Monte Carlo Estate else I would be running them on that as well.

Just avoid, unless you live in Finland or something. Driving in WET and Dry, just terrible grip and I have a 4x4 Subaru with LSD. It's shocking really. Unless you drive really slow, it's OK then, but come roundabout they just don't grip doesn't matter wet or dry. Good in snow, but it should be at least good in wet as well and OK in dry, but It's crap in both wet and dry, so not good for me, will not buy again.
05.06.2019fromAsh
I didn't get these on until Feb/Mar when worst of the weather had passed. Driven on main roads & motorways at temps between 3°c and 16°c in mixed weather without problems. Obviously they were less responsive at the higher temps but never felt dangerous. No sign of wear at all. Dry road grip when accelerating lost traction a bit too easily but cornering was predictable.

Excellent driving experience on these tyres. They feel safe, sturdy and solid on the road in heat, heavy rain, slippery roads due to mud, country roads, uneven and good surfaces, I have not yet tried in snow or ice. To any walkers reading this, they feel like vibram soles for my car!

The tyres perform well. At that price I would expect no less. (But Michelins tend to cost even more than Continentals.) We don't get a lot of snow in Essex, England these days, but when we lived in parts of Germany where (at least then) it snowed in winter we always found Continental Winter Tyres performed well. And indeed I've left the winter tyres on for the summer this year. Partly through laziness. But also, low profile summer tyres look "cool" with alloy in the show rooms, but with all the pot holes and broken roads here in England, slightly thicker tyres on (slightly smaller) steel rims offer better resilience (and comfort). Economy penalty must existnotably inrespect of fuel, but appears very marginal as long as the tyres remain fully inflated. Which (so far) they do without frequent top-ups. Though I appreciate that reading what I just wrote makes me sounds very old. Ainsi soit il. And it still feels odd to be asked to review Winter Tyres in June.
09.11.2023fromMichael Yates
These are great winter tyres which I run all year round ( living in rural Wales). The problem is getting them in the size I need. I generally have to order at least 3 months before I am going to need them so this review is actually for the tyres I bought two years ago and which still have about 5000 miles (8000 km) wear left. The original summer tyres fitted to the car when I bought it new only lasted 25000 miles so these Continentals actually represent good value for money - and they don’t skid on muddy farm tracks in summer. I had a puncture and the runflat function worked well. But these tyres cannot be repaired by the usual method and there was no chance of getting a new pair of tyres in this size (have to replace in pairs on this car). My only option was the ‘slime’ injection which has worked perfectly. No loss of pressure over the last 5000 miles.
18.03.2022fromClaire Hunter
A much more balanced and user friendly tyre than the Pirelli winters they replaced which were supplied by BMW. Less tramlining. More precise grip and steering yet also more comfortable ride. Unable to accurately comment on fuel consumption as I haven’t monitored it that closely. Snow use not really tested this winter in the UK so can’t comment with any true experience.

I don't drive the car hard but even so these tyres have lasted a long time with even wear and still at least 4mm left after 15k. I would prefer more comfort but this is probably due to the 18 inch wheels and not the tyres. They do tramline a bit but I cannot compare to any other brand.
30.11.2011fromKeith Farrow
capable, but for the price there are far better tyres out there. Had PS2's and Conti's before, both gave much sharper handling. The P Zeros seem to wander, and tramline a lot.

First 15.000 kms tyre is fine, good grip on dry, very good comfort. grip in snow is worthless. braking in wet conditions deteriorates fast after 15.000 kms. at 30.000 kms (and this is for the second time) all 4 tyres (I have FWD, and did not swap front/after) are deformed. driving between 90kmh and 140kmh gives knocking sound. Drinving 105-110kmh makes car shake. Pirelli already changed me 4 tyres and I got 2 for free because of this problem. Now I'm 32.000kms futher and it's the same problem all over again. I am not a sporty driver, and it's too bad I did not know this site earlier. I would never hace let pirelli put me 4 new tyres. Even at 2 for free it's expensive per km.

Slightly noisier at low speeds than I had expected (my Cooper winter tyres are quieter) although the relative noise abates at higher speeds. They're pretty firm on bumpy roads where I drive most often. Superb for motorway driving in terms of low noise and excellent ride comfort.

Great wearing tyre, plenty of grip in the wet and dry. Wearing better the Goodyear F1's I had on the car before. Will definitely buy again.
29.04.2020fromMr Doorbar
These tyres were OE on my 2017 Passat Estate so I stuck with the same when it came to replacing the fronts. I'm still on the original rears. The fronts did around 24K miles while the tread left of the rears gives me around another 10K at least. However, the tyres walls on the rear have slight cracking even though they haven't been curbed and if get worst it will become an MOT failure at the cars first MOT this year. The one area where these tyres are weakest are the road noise. I'm sure there are quieter tyres out there but they may be weaker in other areas. On the whole these Pirellis are more than suitable for any family car.

Seems quieter and more comfortable. Grip very good and economy improved as well.

Bridgestone tyres - reinforcing your passion for driving

Whether at the race track or on public roads, few car tyre brands command as much respect as Bridgestone. The Japanese maker’s ethos of ‘serving society with superior quality’ has also served it very well. Currently the largest tyre manufacturer in the world, the Bridgestone Corporation has earned its success and good renown by ensuring customer satisfaction with every single product. Whatever you drive, wherever you drive it, Bridgestone tyres will get you there in comfort and safety.

Next-generation technology available today, with Bridgestone car tyres

For decades, Bridgestone has also displayed an intense interest in racing – and the cutting-age technology developed for the track has trickled down to its mainstream road products. Since providing the tyres that won the first Japanese-hosted Formula One race at Suzuka, in 1963, Bridgestone tyres have featured prominently in nearly every major motorsport – from F 1 to IndyCar and MotoGP.

Not surprisingly, Bridgestone tyres are popular original equipment choices for many of the world’s most reputable vehicle manufacturers. These remarkable products are equally competitive on the replacement market – and Tirendo has Bridgestone car tyres, SUV and 4x4 tyres, van and caravan tyres, and even motorcycle tyres for sale at very advantageous prices!
